Maximum of 12 students per day/per classroom, two classrooms available.
Current students may enroll for 2, 4, or 6 week sessions; new students must attend all 6 weeks.

June 22 - July 30

8:15 am - 12:30 pm or 8:15 am - 2:30 pm


For the young child with growing social interests and wider curiosity, we offer an exploration of the activities and routines of a Montessori classroom. With affectionate guidance the children experience the stimulation of an environment designed to meet their growing needs. Activities include arts and crafts, gardening and plenty of outdoor play time. Three, four, or five day options are available.

Primary Classes

Students enrolling for all 3 sessions will be automatically enrolled in Montessori Adventures (6 week session) for continuity.

3 - 6 years

Montessori Discoveries: 8:15 am - 2:30 pm

two-week sessions
Features a blend of Montessori materials and special themes. All sessions will emphasize using those wonderful Montessori materials as well as a variety of art, music, healthy baking or outdoor projects. Students must be independent in toileting.

Puppetry
Session One -- June 22 - July 2
The highlight of this session will learn simple puppetry which will incorporate beginning storytelling. Students will make their puppets from spoons, socks and/or felt.

Marine Life
Session Two -- July 6 - July 16 (Closed July 5)7241a.jpg
This session will be a study of marine life, ocean animals and plants. Students will do cooking projects as well as a special Fourth of July project.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs
Session Three -- July 19 - July 30
This session will focus on exploring the world of insects. Using Montessori methods and the great outdoors, students will learn more about these crawling creatures.

Montessori Adventures: 8:15 am - 2:30 pm

Children will immerse themselves in the magic of the Montessori curriculum. They will learn about Marine Life and Oceanography while incorporating related arts projects. Also included will be daily art stations, yoga, creative movements and cooking projects.

Elementary Classes: 8:15 am - 2:30 pm

Montessori Explorations

two-week sessions
for students entering 1st - 3rd grade

All sessions will feature wonderful Montessori materials for reading, writing, cultural studies and math and of course fun special topics!

Session I - June 22 - July 2

Spanish-Immersion

Students will learn Spanish vocabulary through songs, games, stories, arts and craft. The children will also explore cultural traditions such as cooking and tasting a variety of food.

Session II - July 6 - July 16 (Closed July 5)

Biomes of North America

Students will learn about the land regions, climate, animals, plants and native people. Through art activities and cooking projects, the class will explore the form and function of the unique animals and plants of the different areas.


Session III - July 19 - July 30

The Art of Cooking

The focus will be Italian Cuisine, the students will lean cooking basics through daily cooking projects. The students will also experience the artistic influences of the Renaissance including DaVinci and Michelangelo and other European artists such as Picasso, Monet and Dali.

Older Elementary Students

Earth Science - June 22 - July 2

for students entering 4th - 6th grade

Students will learn Geology, the study of the Earth and its processes. They will explore aspects of geology, geography, oceanography and paleontology. This camp will include a number of field explorations.

Fairy Tales - July 6 - July 16 (Closed July 5)

for students entering 3rd - 5th grade

This camp will focus on the writing process and the imagination. Students will write their own fairy tales and make puppets to act out their creative stories. They will explore traditional and modern fairy tales from around the globe.


Outdoor Adventures - July 19 - July 30

for students entering 4th - 6th grade

Students will learn about the wilderness world through tracking, plant identification and the art of wilderness survival all from the safety of the MCS campus. Activities will include keeping a journal, building shelters, identifying plants and more.

All sessions will focus on computers, games, sports and fitness. Each student will have his or her own computer and be able to work at his/her appropriate level. Activities include keyboarding practice, math games, word processing, web page design, photo editing, slide show presentations, silent reading and athletics. Apple iLife and iWorks associate Certification preparation available. The students will participate in the President's Physical Fitness Program.
