On February 16th, Brown Door students' weekly art lesson expanded to encompass a day at The Getty Center in Los Angeles! In keeping with Montessori's commitment to involve children in nature, they embarked on a one hour, docent-led tour titled, "Art in Nature." Getty docents masterfully guided students to look closely, and think critically about art, supported by hands-on art activities. The floating tram ride, architecture, fountains, gardens, expansive views and world class art collection made for an amazing, inspirational experience.
My sincere thanks to all the parents who drove (and those who came along for the thrill) as well as Brown Door teachers who not only organized drivers, but handled all the details of our catered bag lunch! We're ready to go again!
