Santa Barbara Symphony Essay Contest Winners

On Thursday, February 9th, Brown Door students attended the Santa Barbara Symphony’s “Beethoven Lives” at the Granada Theatre. Prior to the event, over 300 students from local schools submitted essays on: "If You Had The Opportunity to Meet Beethoven, What Would You Talk To Him About and Why?"

Ben Albers won the entire 6th grade competition, and Alice Friere (5th grade) and Dylan Sager (4th grade) each received Honorable Mention in their divisions. These students, who sat in the front row with their parents during the show,  were later introduced to the entire audience and to conductor Nir Kabaretti. Afterwards, the whole class went out to lunch to celebrate!

Congratulations to Ben, Alice, and Dylan!
