MCS offers a variety of Extra-Curricular classes in addition to our afterschool care program. Fall, winter and spring sessions are typically 9 or 10 weeks long. The Fall schedule is not yet available but generally class offerings and scheduling is similar.

Embody Dance

Monday 2:30 - 3:05;  Primary Class (1st - 3rd year students)

The students enjoy an international journey through rhythm, drumming, movement, song and learn choreographed dances as well as have opportunities to improvise. Taught by Trudie Olsen-Curtis, former MCS Assistant Teacher. Click here to download registration form.


Monday 3:15 - 4:15;  Lower Elem. Class (2nd & 3rd year students)
Thursday 3:15 - 4:15;  Upper Elem. Class (4th - 6th year students)

A fun-filled hour of the lovely Japanese art of folding paper. Learn how to make animals, geometric shapes, boxes and ornaments. Instructed by MCS Orange Door teacher, Rick Drake. Click here to download registration form.

Outdoor Adventures

Monday 3:15 - 4:15;  Elementary Class (3rd - 6th year students)

Activities will include wilderness games that heighten your senses, involve strategy and team work, require problem solving and utilize wilderness survival skills. Loric Box, MCS Brown Door East teacher leads this class. Click here to download registration form.

Primary Spanish

Tuesday & Wednesday 2:30 - 3:10 (2nd & 3rd year Primary students)

Your children will experience a multi-sensory Spanish-only environment where conversational Spanish, traditional Spanish songs and games, films, puppets, food and hands-on materials will create a delightful exposure to Spanish culture. Tuesday 3:15 - 4:00;  Elementary Class (1st -6th year students)

Learn skills, improve your game and have fun doing it!! Lessons cover the basics of tennis ground strokes, volleys, serves and game rules and strategy-presented in an engaging and energetic format. Students move thru drills and games created to provide repetitive practice of the skills demonstrated over the class session. Tennis rackets, balls and a portable net will be provided. Sketch in Nature

Friday 3:15 - 4:00; Elementary Class (1st -6th year students)

The Sketch in Nature art class is designed to develop eye and hand through drawing and sketching exercises basic to landscape drawing and painting. Instructed by Marilee Krause, M.A. Award-winning local artist and teacher of art and dance. Click here to download registration form.

Zumba Kids

Wednesday 3:15 - 4:00;  Lower Elem. Class (1st - 3rd year students)

Through international dance  styles, musical rhythms and games children develop coordination, balance, flexibility, discipline, memory and more as they practice leadership, respect, team work and responsibility while developing a healthy and active lifestyle. Instructed by Rachel McDonald, MCS parent, licensed Zumba instructor, AFAA certified group fitness instructor and ACE certified personal trainer. Click here to download registration form.

Art Explorations

Tuesday 3:15 - 4:00: Elementary Class (1st - 6th year students)

Students tap into their creative spirits with a new project each week. Using a variety of media, we will investigate work on paper: collage, drawing, watercolor, 3D work and more. Click here to download registration form.


Friday 3:05 - 4:05;  Elementary Class (1st - 3rd year students)

This class not only teaches children to play chess, but also prepares them for life by enhancing their thought process. Click here to download registration form.

 A Stitch in Time

Wednesday 3:15 - 4:15; Elementary Class (1st - 3rd year students)

Join us for an adventure beginning with needlepoin and continuing into the world of yarn crafts. Building on basic skills learned in this class, students will be able to work on more complex projects as their interest grows and they may find a lifelong hobby. Not only will we learn the are of needlepoint, we will also enjoy each other's company, reminiscent of a  'Quilting Bee.' Come join the busy bees. Click here to download registration form.

 Sing with MCS: A Chorus

Friday 12:15 - 1:00; Elementary Class (3rd - 6th year students)

Experience the joy and sense of accomplishment found in learing to sign together. The chorus will be participating in the SB Children's Chorus' All School Chorus program. We will also hold a spearate performance to showcase the MCS chorus members at the end of each session. Click here to download registration form.
