MCS offers a variety of Extra-Curricular classes in addition to our afterschool care program. Fall, winter and spring sessions are typically 10 weeks long. Please see our current offerings below.

Art Explorations – Thursday 2:30-2:10

(for Primary students)
Class Fee: $100

Students complete a new art project each week using a variety of media. We will explore beeswax crayons, rubbings, torn-paper collage, the world of mandalas, and more! Instructed by Marilee Krause, M.A. Award-winning local artist and teacher of art and dance. Click here to download the form.


Creative Dance – Friday 2:30-3:10

(for Primary students)
Class Fee: $100

This fun, challenging class will focus on the fundamentals of ballet, modern, jazz and African forms of dance, as well as choreography and performances. Instructed by Marilee Krause, M.A. Award-winning local artist and teacher of art and dance. Click here to download the form.


Embody Dance - Monday 3:15 - 4:00

(for Lower and Upper Elementarty students)
Class Fee: $100

Join Trudie Olsen-Curtis as she introduces student to the world of International Dance. Discover and appreciate other cultures through movement. Click here to download the form.


Guitar – Wednesday 3:15-4:00

(for Lower Elementary students)
Class Fee: $120

Children will learn to play the guitar using a child centered approach and familiar songs. In each class, children will have the opportuity to sing songs as they learn to play. Children should bring a child sized guitar. Several loaners are available upon request. Instructed by MCS teacher Irene Morales. Click here to download the form.


Origami – Monday (Lower Elem. students) 3:15-4:15; Thursday (Upper Elem. students) 3:15-4:15

Class Fee: $112

A fun-filled hour of the lovely Japanese art of folding paper. Learn how to make animals, geometric shapes, boxes and ornaments. Instructed by MCS Orange Door teacher, Rick Drake. Click here to download the form.


Sketch in Nature – Thursday 3:15-4:00

(for Elementary students)
Class Fee: $100

The Sketch in Nature art class is designed to develop eye and hand through drawing and sketching exercises basic to landscape drawing and painting. Instructed by Marilee Krause, M.A. Award-winning local artist and teacher of art and dance. Click here to download the form.


Spanish – Tuesday & Wednesday 2:30-3:10

(for 2nd & 3rd year Primary students)
Class Fee: $200

Your children will experience a multi-sensory Spanish-only environment where conversational Spanish, traditional Spanish songs and games, films, puppets, food and hands-on materials will create a delightful exposure to Spanish culture. Instructed by native Spanish speaker and credentialed teacher, Martha Ruiz-Ford. Click here to download the form.


Tennis - Tuesday 3:15-4:00 PM

(for Elementary students)
Class Fee: $100

Learn skills, improve your game and have fun doing it!! Lessons cover the basics of tennis ground strokes, volleys, serves and game rules and strategy-presented in an engaging and energetic format. Students move thru drills and games created to provide repetitive practice of the skills demonstrated over the class session. Tennis rackets, balls and a portable net will be provided. Yoga – Friday 3:15-4:00 PM

(for Elementary students)
Class Fee: $100

Through stretching, “asana” (postures), and creative yoga, we will build strong bodies, minds and hearts. Instructed by Marilee Krause, M.A. Award-winning local artist and teacher of art and dance. Click here to download the form.


Chess - Friday 3:05-4:05PM

(for Elementary students)
Class Fee: $150
